Nero’s dreams
Sara Sofia Ricci

Nero/Alessandro Neretti’s work starts from a careful analysis of the space: a space he wants to investigate, with which he seeks a dialogue, of which he wants to appropriate himself and he does so by even absorbing the objects he finds: he analyzes them, he dissects them, and then return them transformed into their material and conceptual substance.
There are two environments in which the artist works, two are the materialized visions … or perhaps the dream is only one that doubles, to then return one as light appears, when the night stops to gird the day.
An ancient chandelier found inside the fire station, battered and abandoned, is dismantled and recomposed, becoming a cosmic sculpture, a metamorphosis that drags – in the space – the story of the relationship between the artist and reality. The finding, the journey, and the return.
In the other environment, the imagined reality gives space to the dream that becomes real, licentious and impudent, it comes to life undergoing a process of multiplication and doubling. The protagonists tied one with the other, they interact continuously and scrutinize each other rising from the unconscious that generated them, feeding on their own reflected image.
In this project, the reality is one with the enchantment of the night, an insane game; a dreamlike swing between the surface of things and their depth, with the sole purpose of confusing space and time, dreaming again.
